TWiT Lives!
Wow, it was indeed a scary week as Leo announced the possible end of the TWiT podcast. However, it appears that after talking with the other hosts, they’re created a new system allowing them to possibly rotate appearances, etc. Read all about it here:

Firefox 2 Officially Released
The Mozilla.com website has been updated with download links, a press release, and a post from Mozilla CEO Mitchell Baker about the official release of Firefox 2. The new version is on the heels of IE7, just released my Microsoft. Ironically IE7 is a major update to include many of the features already present in Firefox. It appears that Firefox has again leapfrogged Microsoft with new features and capabilities. I’ve been using Firefox as my default browser for a long time now and have only needed to use IE when accessing a service based site that requiring IE (update: the IE Tab for Firefox now eliminates my use of IE entirely). If you haven’t tried Firefox, I encourage you to do so and explore the many extensions offered by community developers that makes Firefox the swiss army knife of browsers!
No TWiT Today - Say it’s not so Leo!
This post on the TWiT blog deeply concerns me as I’ve been a huge fan of the TWiT podcast starting with the first episode. It started out as a reunion of sorts of the cast from the old ScreenSavers show which aired on the now defunct TechTV network (thanks Comcast). For over a year now, Leo LaPorte and other cast members have been hosting a weekly technology news round-up show via podcast. It has become extremely popular and has also garnered a few of the first-ever podcast awards. Up until recently, the hosts/guests appeared voluntarily. Maybe it’s been too much a strain for many of them, since they all have busy “day jobs.” Anyway, if you haven’t listened to TWiT, you can grab some episodes from the TWit.tv website, or via iTunes (the easiest way)! Long live TWiT!
Re-launch!
Welcome to the re-launch of AndyMorton.org! I’ve been experimenting with multiple blogging platforms, plug-ins and such for quite some time. It’s time that I get serious about this and use these tools to enhance both my work and personal lives! I’ll be posting commentary related to work and libraries, new and interesting technologies, and tell you about personal developments. Feel free to comment on any of my posts or send me an email using the contact form linked at the top of the page. Also, I’ve been overhauling my personal website (www.richmond.edu/~amorton), which is now in it’s version 7. I created version 1.0 while working at Wake Forest University back way back in 1996. My goal is to post a screen capture of each version showing the development of the site over the past 10 years. Enjoy!
